Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
This activity uses a short video to introduce indefinite pronouns and then guides students through identification and use. It is designed for kindergarten students with supports for first-grade learners. Prepare by cuing the video and having a board or chart paper ready to display example sentences. Consider pairing students for partner practice so they can talk about answers aloud before responding. For the open-ended 'Think About It' response, a high-quality answer shares one clear thing the student learned (e.g., “Someone means we do not know who.”) and one clear question they still have (e.g., “Can someone mean a thing?”). For the 'Show It' creative response, a high-quality answer shows a correct use of an indefinite pronoun in a sentence or drawing and explains it simply (spoken or written). Teachers can mark these open responses as correct when the student demonstrates understanding (identifies or uses an indefinite pronoun correctly) and incorrect when the response shows misunderstanding or unrelated content.
