We are learning about forces. This type of science is called 'Physics'! Read the information in the slide about FRICTION. Look at the examples. Did you know that if you put a ball on a book and tilt the book, the ball will roll off. However, if you put a banana on the book and tilt the book, the banana will not roll off! The force that holds the banana on, is called FRICTION! Items with slippery surfaces have less friction. Items with rougher surfaces have more friction. Your task is to create 5 examples of friction at your house. Take five photos demonstrating the way items don't roll off straight away when the base is tilted. Click to upload your photos. It is called ADHESION. This is when two surfaces have different particles or surfaces, and this makes them cling together. Extension: Can you guess which photo shows the force called adhesion?
