Gordon Parks was a self-taught artist who became the first African-American photographer for Life and Vogue magazines. He also pursued movie directing and screenwriting, and was famous for documenting African-American life. He and others were treated differently because of the color of their skin, and Gordon wanted to take a stand against the racism he observed. He wanted to use his "camera to speak for people who are unable to speak for themselves.” 1. ▶️ First, watch the storybook about Gordon Parks. 2. ▶️ Then, watch this video about him, too: https://safeYouTube.net/w/BZPK 3. Look at the artist and his most famous photograph on page 1. 4. On page 2, choose one of his photos and tell a respectful story about it. Who is it, where are they going, or what are they doing? Why?
