Pig the Pug - Character Traits and Opinion Writing

Grades: 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade
Subjects: Reading, Writing, English Language Arts

Student Instructions

Complete a F.A.S.T. analysis of the character Pig from the book, 'Pig the Pug' (link attached). Remember that a F.A.S.T. analysis helps us think about a character's traits by looking at their: - Feelings (how they feel); - Actions (what they do); - Sayings (what they say); and - Thoughts (what they think). Then, write a letter to someone you know. It could be your teacher, a friend or a family member. You need to tell them about the book, 'Pig the Pug'. Please tell them: - What the book is called. - Who the main character is. - Some traits of the main character with evidence from the book (use your F.A.S.T. analysis). - Your opinion about whether or not they should read the book. Don't forget to use full sentences and to include a greeting and closing in your letter. Please write your letter on paper, then take a photo to share it on Seesaw.
