Writing to summarize: - 10-15 mins of writing per book On the left side of each page, if it is a FICTION book, try summarizing the main events of the story using details like WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY + HOW. If it is a NON-FICTION book, try summarizing each interesting detail with 2 parts: a statement and an example. Like this, "Many planets are named after Roman gods. For example, the planet Jupiter is named after the Roman god Jupiter, god of the sky and thunder." On the right side of each page, you need to stretch your thinking. WHY did the author write the book? Just to inform people? Just to entertain people? Why? What's the point? If it is FICTION, how did the character change? What life lesson could the audience take from seeing how the character changed? If it is NON-FICTION, how could this information help humans fix a SPECIFIC problem in the world? What is your opinion of that problem? Write about it and make connections to the facts in the book. Your mission this week is to read: - 😲😁 1 story on RAZ Kids (from "Level Up!") - 🤓🧐 1 information text on RAZ Kids (from "Level Up!" - 🤔😄 1 book of your choice on Epic (or a chapter from a chapter book) Also remember to: 1.
