You're on the news! Explaining the Greenhouse Effect

Grades: 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade

Student Instructions

1. Watch the following video video and listen carefully so you will be able to explain the Greenhouse Effect after you watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPJJM_hCFj0 If you are still not sure what it is, watch again or chat with a partner to ensure that you have a good understanding of The Greenhouse Effect. 3. Next, use the template below to drawing draw your own diagram of how The Greenhouse Effect works. Make sure you include and label label the following: The Earth, the sun, the sun's rays, and the atmosphere (or greenhouse gasses.) 4. Once you are finished with your drawing, imagine you are on the news and you get to explain The Greenhouse Effect to your viewers, using your diagram. Push the video to make a video or the mic to make a sound clip then and record a short segment on The Greenhouse Effect. Don't forget to have fun and make it entertaining for your viewers!
