STUDY THE PHYSICS OF SLEDDING! Everybody loves to go sledding! Before you slide down the hills, think about these questions. Which one would you want to test? • Do you go faster down a steeper or more gentle slope? (try different sized hills) • Do you go faster with more or less weight? (add weight to the sled or make it heavier) • Which shape of sled goes the fastest? (rectangle, rounded edges, pointed front) • Which material for the sled goes the fastest? (plastic, cardboard, metal) If you don't have an area to ride a sled, make one for an action figure or doll. Make a hill of snow and test out your question.
