Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Hello Seesaw Colleagues! Newsela is a rich resource for news articles, which can be read at different reading levels. I encourage students to read articles at a comfortable level and then at other levels as well (both ones they think are easier or harder). There are many articles related to Native American culture. I chose ones that are fairly recent, that I thought my students would find personally interesting, and that seemed to connect with a clear aspect of traditional "culture" like art, values, food, nature, etc. But you may find choices that are better for your students and perhaps focused on a different culture. Enjoy, Kristin
