The theme is an important idea, or lesson, that is woven throughout a story. It's not the plot or the summary but something a little deeper that we learn usually from the main character making a mistake or coming to a realization during the story. DIRECTIONS: There are four stories (one per page) and four themes. Your job is to circle the theme that fits each fiction story. HINT: You will use each theme ONLY ONCE. Press the when you have finished identifying the theme on all four pages.
