Time to get curious and explore what it feels like to walk barefoot. Sense the support of the earth beneath you and notice the emotions and sensations that arise through the body from head to toe. Walking or standing barefoot is a simple tool that takes you into the present moment. It can also help you feel calm and supported when you experience any difficult emotions, for example, when you feel anxious or overwhelmed. Materials Needed: -Tablet, phone or other device to listen to the recording -Your bare feet -Grass, soil, sand, carpet or floor How to Play: 1. Take off your shoes and go outside to explore on grass, soil or sand. If you are unable to step outside the carpet or floor is perfect! 2. Click on the and play the recording of Mary guiding you through your barefoot walk. 3. When you've finished your walk, click to complete the mindful journal questions. Walking barefoot outside is a wonderful way for children to use their sense of touch to experience their bodies and surroundings. Plus, going barefoot or “earthing” provides several scientifically researched benefits, including better sleep, reduced inflammation and increased antioxidants thanks to the way our bodies interact with the earth’s electrons.
