(A8) Magnetic Fields

Student Instructions

Hands-on Activity 1. Slide 1: Put the bar magnet under the magnetic field viewer. Move the iron filling until you see the entire magnetic field (like the picture to the right). Take a photo. The photo should show that magnets are strongest at the poles. 2. Slide 2: Put the ring magnet under the magnetic field viewer. Move the iron filling until you see the entire magnetic field (like the picture to the right). Take a photo. The photo should show that magnets are strongest at the poles. 3. Slide 3: Put the horseshoe magnet under the magnetic field viewer. Move the iron filling until you see the entire magnetic field (like the picture to the right). Take a photo. The photo should show that magnets are strongest at the poles.. 4. Slide 4: Put the cow magnet in the magnetic field viewer for a 3-D view. Move the iron filling around until you see the entire magnetic field. Take a photo. The photo should show that magnets are strongest at the poles. 5. Do a continuous recording for slides 1-5. Your recording should include the required content and vocabulary words. Your recording should not exceed 1-minute.
